Is Obama the next Carter?

After promising in his campaign to take troops out of Iraq and cease costly nation-building efforts in the Middle East, President Obama is now ordering 30,000 more troops into Afghanistan and further entangling the United States in the region.  To what degree are these decisions inherited from the former administration, or reflective of Obama’s own worldview?  A great article published in the January/February issue of Foreign Policy discusses the conflicted nature of Obama’s foreign policy, and whether or not it is doomed to the stagnation and failure of No. 39.  Follow link below:
